When in 2001 A-SAFE invented the world’s first flexible polymer barrier, it transformed protective barriers into industrial workplaces.
The fundamental properties of the 2001 A-SAFE barriers are still valid today. The flexible barriers absorb the forces of impact and then return to their original shape after having received an impact from the vehicle at the workplace. This same principle allows companies to save a lot of money when replacing barriers, labor and repairs, but they also add low maintenance properties to the polymer (Memaplex ™) – there is no need to paint, without risks, without corrosion – the return of investment is very broad, fast and continuous.
When A-SAFE barriers were installed in the baggage handling area at Gatwick Airport, maintenance and replacement costs were reduced from £ 100,000 per year, to just £ 3,000 over a five-year period.
